I have heard that the single rail was a better driver friendly box. The tremec in the My mustang is like not much bigger than a damn football!!! Mabey one day i will take out my big C6 and put in the newer Tremec Tranny.

My experience is exactly the opposite. I find the single rail to be mushy and have missed gears in the car that it is in. The top loader in my coupe changes gears slickly, like a lee enfield bolt action rifle.

Clutch in the single rail is gentler however.

I have a single rail in my xc coupe, i bought a aluminium thread for the gear shift as the nylon one's tend to come away in your hand when its time to slam through the gears, ive stretch'd the gears heaps of times and the box holds up,ive heard people knock the top loaders so i hope when ive had it reconditioned it will be a smooth shifter, untill i get the toploader sorted another single rail is going in the BOB, ive also looked into a twin plate clutch for both my cars, my old xc coupe had a twin plate, although i didnt know it at that time, i just love the double take sound the twin plate makes when ya go'in through the gears.

Anyone out there got a spare shifter for sale for a v8 single rail.
