Without wanting to sound rude.... but you seem to have a problem. Everytime someone criticizes US foreign policy..... you take it to mean that we are bashing Americans... and bashing YOU personally.... Using this logic.... any American citizen who hates Bush is also "un-patriotic"....


Sorry to inform you... but YOUR government is not the population.....


In similiar fashion... anyone who criticizes the Australian government does not mean they are anti- Australian.... In fact.. i support any criticism of it.


It is EVERYONES RIGHT to be critical of their elected officials.....


Next point i want to get across.....


...Again.. Thunderdome was made to discuss "other" topics...... Unfortunately the discussion turns to stupidity.. and instead of "discussion", there are the usual rants about "wiping out" a certain race or religion as its deemed to be... inhuman.


Define the enemy as animals.... so that we may define ourselves as human....


Sorry... but since several of those posts inferred a "jihad" against... the so-called "enemy"... This makes the poster no better then they are....


Lowering yourself to their standand means your no better then they are....


As has been said.. over and over and over.... I dont care who you are......any references to inciting violence... hatred ... etc... will be deleted... end of story.

Hey Bart did you notice that after Sammy threatened to cut off our heads he peppered his response with his own "political" opinions? I think he bashed America. again.


I think he tried to put other words, his own, into our mouths.

RWMFP, I understand your point about discussing, but what crosses the line of "discussion"? I agree about inciting hatred, a post saying "Kill Muslims, Sign Up Here" would be wrong, but if someone posted something like "I hate Muslims, they should all be killed", why not treat it as an opinion and give others a chance to challenge it? "Okay, back up your opinion that they should be killed, any more than any other nutty religious group should be killed". "Thunderdome" in Max 3 was an anarchic free for all, shouldn't its namesake be the same? If it's Peter's wish not to cross any lines on the entire site, that's the final word, but if he's open to negotiation, how about approaching him with this idea: have the "General" board be for both Max and non-Max related general conversation, no offensive material or comments whatsoever, and "Thunderdome" can be the no-holds-barred, let's step outside, check your feelings at the door and pick up your brass knuckles talk....put a strong warning on the tag under the "Thunderdome" board title to warn the easily offended, and stress that the opinions offered are only those of the posters themselves. And when it degenerates into stupidity, I believe most members just pass on it, and it dies. The arseholes make themselves known, and they get short play here. Also, I loved the pics and tales from Easternats, just didn't feel any need to post anything on the threads, so don't take lack of posts on a thread as ho-hum, honest .


Dave, I would add one condition to your scenario: the "country" of the USA is actually the Northern Americans and the Southern Americans, who hate each other. But a foreign power has deemed the USA one country, so the two must get along. And I hope, when you say, "The Americans think that's okay", you mean our politicians, who, with few exceptions, are craven scumbags at best' and our less-informed citizenry. Rest assured, not all of us want to rule the world, we know we have enough crap right here on our own porch.


Bart, I agree with you (in your response to Dave). That's kind of what I meant earlier in the thread, when I said we're all full of crap. There's lots of stuff we could be working on, if our pols really cared about people.

Well Bart.... Its this simple..... Doug and I are the Mods... Peter made us the mods.... we represent the owner of the message board...... You will never get an email from him... as WE... Doug and myself are here to do it for HIM....
