Blowers can't be switched on and off!!!!!!!!!

From what i'm told and common sense blowers can't be switched on and off.First of all what is a blower for ? SPEED that is why dragsters use 'em.Obviously they aren't designed to be turned on and off.Well you could stop every now and then and take the time to put the belt on the charger and when you do you'll probably go 170 mph and then be pursued by cops and when you try to stop on brakes you probably do an awesome but deadly burnout and spin off the road and collide with on-coming traffic. That is why dragsters use chutes to slow 'em down.

Some blown engine have the ability to de-clutch

the supercharger from the engine, an example is the

mercedes c230k's 2.3 litre supercharged engine. In

this engine the blower is clutched from the engine automatically

at low engine revs to save fuel and decrease vibrations

etc. Clutches for superchargers can bought after-

market now for some engines. Get Australian Hot4s

magazine issue 41 page 127, there is an 80's celica

with a supercharger from a 4agze engine on it, the

owner has had a clutch installed on the supercharger,

It is an interesting article. The main problem with

a switchable supercharger is that the instant it is switched

on it add a lot more air to the cylinder which is added

to the air already alotted to that cylinder so

compression is vastly increased only for that stroke

of the piston, after this stroke the risk of damage

is minimal, I hope ths helps.
