ImageMitch, the B&M s/c cases are much different from standard GMC cases. The B&M are their own designs.

Darn, I should've gotten here earlier...

Screw Chargers are good indeed, problem is, only two sources come to mind...WhippleChargers(which no matter who makes them...AutoRotor whatever, they are still small compared to a 6-71), and PSI, which makes them for drag race application which is...rather large in size.

In order for the smaller superchargers to be any use, you have to double them up, as they produce twin charger manifolds because the largest size I believe that is produced is 2L+ or so in size. The PSI blowers are just huge as they are made for big block methanol drag strip terrors.

Brian's blower idea is interesting...blow-thru carb setup...of course you have to have the carb modified for boost...not a problem.

Man, there is a lot here...I have to sit down to read this one.

ImageAutoRotor is the Swedish patent holder. Whipple Industries are the licensee for GM applications. Kenne Bell is the licensee for Ford apps. Blow through configurations suck compared to draw through applications.

Don't worry about your timing mfpmax, I haven't gone anywhere.

Since the guy with the mediocre degree has nothing constructive to say, maybe he could keep quiet and let the adults talk for a while.

What's your thoughts on a carburator completely enclosed inside a pressurized air box?

I fail to see where the anger started with you two or why there is a need to carry on. If you CAN do it, get off the computer and go and DO IT. Many people have talked about it and you would be a legend if you were the one to perfect it.

If you CANT do it be prepared to listen to what others have to say.

There is enough stress in the world.

Hey Nelson, where do you get off copying my 'peace, love and understanding' theme? You got a lotta nerve! Why I oughtta...

Sorry. Just another hot headed American! LOL!

Anyway, since a lot of this discussion IS theoretical, does anybody have a tried and true blower setup that would produce 450-500hp, be very streetable, and looks good, if not totally authentic? The B&M may be the way to go for now, and ease into the full on Weiand 6-71/Scott injector route. Thoughts, ideas, opinions? Diplomatically, please...

Also, what kind of money are we talking for such a setup? I figured around $3000US for the engine, and at least that much for the blower, installed. Am I dreaming? Should I just apply the bucks to a really powerful 351C?

Mitch, go to the Cleveland forum I already mentioned.

http://www.network54.com/Hide/Forum/119419

They are very helpful.

Someone (Bill, I think) mentioned having a new 351C blower manifold for sale yesterday. They also have a classified section, links, and enough archived posts about Cleveland engines to make you sick.

I'll repost your question there to get things going.

Blow Thru sucks? Most of the carb turbo applications are blow thru.

Companies make bonnets specifcally for blow-thru carb turbo setups.

And from what I hear from Turbo Ford owners, before EFI came around, the draw-thru setup they had...sucked monkey.

But yeah, I'd like a Screwcharger setup in a BDS or Weiand blower housing...and slap that onto a DOHC engine and blah blah blah wishful thinking.

ImageLMAO~!!!!!! Mediocre degree? Well have you EITHER of those two? And thanks Nelson. As he said, if you can do it, shut up and get it done. Impress us with your backyard engineering skills. Patent it, tradmark it and make thousand selling kits to the other replica owners. Nothing constructive? Thats your only response because Im right and you have no rebuttle.

Yes, compared to a draw thorugh, blow through DOES suck. Youre right about a lot of those appilcations. But just because they were in use doesnt mean they were any good, esp compared to a properly designed and fucntioning draw through. Even though its all forced induction, were talking about s/cs not turbos.

ImageOhh and I failed to add that the screw rotors would have to be in a case designed for them. Im sure you knew that though.
