NUX MOBILE!

Postby rockatansky4073 » Sun Apr 17, 2016 10:49 pm

Picked this up today to finally do a kit of Nux's vehicle.
Got it all pretty much planned out and solved, except those damn pipes.
Anyone got any tips on how the hell to bend them up like that, without snapping them?

get the right scale styrene "pipe" "tubing" from a hobby shop. fill with sand then use heat gun, blow dryer, or stove top to bend.

I would go straight to plastic rod. Mount the piece you want to taper in a power drill and carefully taper the rod using a flat file and abrasive paper until you get the taper you want. Drill the end out and mount onto the funnel shaped bit with its friends. If you push too hard, the rod will snap or melt, so easy does it. I use a minicraft drill as a Dremel is way to fast.

Great, thanks guys, i'll probably try both those techniques.
I was just gonna kit bash like hell, like i did with the Razor cola, but the exhaust pipes from other kits will probably be too fragile to heat and bent and will either melt or snap.
Learned that the hard way, making Razor cola's roll cage.

Or can use some tubing in alu or brass , copper from k/s metal rod n tubing and you use tubing bender from Du-bro tool they do 1/8 and 1/4 that two difference tool one each size .
When you try to use alu don't go too far it will broke ,but brass n copper stand the pression when you bend them.
