Interceptor for Sale

Have seen an ad for a replica Black Interceptor in the recent car sale paper. The car is in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. Seller asking $15,000 U.S.D. If anyone interested in let me know. I plan on calling the guy this weekend to try and get more info.

Interceptor for Sale

I'd be interested, I have family in Indy. Don't know that I could even afford 15K right now, but hell, it's worth a look.

That's the "Kruse Auctions" car, and I believe it is already sold...

That's a shame, but at $15K I'm not surprised it's gone.

Interceptor for Sale

I wonder what the selling price was for the car? Yes I realize it's none of my business. I was very interested in the car, even from the auction date. If I'd have been at the auction I would have owned the car.

At $15,000 US the original auction price was almost doubled The car was worth more than the price paid at auction, but doubling up really smacks.

And yes, thats my opinion....

There is another (I think its a different one) Interceptor that showed up at a couple of Northern Illinois car shows this past month. I missed both shows but saw pics. Would like to get in touch with the owner if any one knows who it is. Looking for reference pics for my model.

Ankle, with the Kruse Auctions price you have to bear in mind a few things. I don't think that the price listed on the web page includes the buyers premium, normally at least 10% to 20%, so the auction price is heading towards $10K already. On top of this the guy who bought it at auction is someone who builds / restores cars, that's his business. Being a businessman you can bet he didn't pass it on to Ross at cost, especially if he did any work on it. On top of this Ross had acquired various parts with the intention of converting the car back to Mad Max 1 style, which he was including with the sale.

I would be kind of surprised if Ross actually made much on the sale - and that's assuming it went for the asking price and not something lower. I would think the majority of profit made would be from the guy who bought it at auction, but as we said, that's his business - he saw a bargain that he could make a profit on, and he went for it. All you guys had the same opportunity, the ad was posted in advance, you were just all too lazy to get down there! Image

Pardon, I thought the person who purchased the car to auction was the seller. I didn't know it had passed thru other hands and included valuable parts. That is different.

Profiteers irritate me. Someone who is not a fan that gouges a fan needs to be whacked. I have been to Kruse Auctions and have never seen a premium of more than 4 % and even that is stiff. Are there people willing to pay $1600 for a "Buyers premium" for and $8000 sale price? P.T. Barmun was right.

No one expects to buy something valuable for what another may have paid for it, but anyone who doubles the price just to see if someone will pay it deserves no respect (and much worse).

As for the advanced notice it was two days...to get 600+ miles away . You even apologized for the short notice, Peter.

4% of $8000 is $320 in my book.
