Jada battle machines

Postby toecutter » Sun Apr 22, 2012 8:01 pm

Im not really into the whole post apocalyptic car genre, so excuse my ignorance - but I was looking for new hot wheels cars and found a series called 'jada battle machines' located in the same section of Tim the Toyman. I bought a 06 mustang, which looks suspiciously like the car Jason Statham drove in Death Race a few years back. It also has a desert camo colour scheme, and no guns. Which i understand are sort of compulsory for post apocalyptic cars.

Can someone fill me in on this series ? Does the Mustang come in black ?

These came out in '09, I believe. and I think in at least 1/64 & 1/24 scale. I know the mustang came in red too, at least. They were all repainted with a few decos. I know they had a 57 Chevy, new mustang, new challenger, 69 Camaro, and rig. Should've picked some up, but never did. :(

Went back and had a look at the others, found a silver metallic Mustang and a Camaro with a gatling gun on its bonnet! You are right, there is a 2009 copyright symbol on them. These are 1:64ish in scale.

I might enter the apocalyptic model car waters with this one.

Any suggestions on what i should do to it ? They cost 3 bucks so its not like i'm going to be ruing a Mona Lisa.

Unless you get really ambitious, I'd just start with repaints, or tire swaps & detail painting.
I double checked on ebay, and I forgot they also made a Chevy Silverado dually truck. There was also a 1/32 scale series. Some of these look pretty good, some I would definitely repaint. The prices seem pretty reasonable, before shipping.
The 1/64 are the right size to work with gaming miniatures like Cyberpunk, Shadowrun or Dark Future figures, too.

looks like they've changed them just enough so they don't have to pay royalties
