A very heavily modified Revell 1982 camaro. Yes, one of the turbos has been put on backwards. These road warriors are clueless!

This car had a few incarnations. At one point it was tubbed and made into a funny car. It was then converted to a road warrior with which I was not very happy. Finally, it was turned into this, and it's been like this for around 22 years.

This started as the third variant Revel released based on the Pro Street J 2000, the Beretta. Very little of the original car remains.

Inspiration is obviously Max's car in Thunderdome. A lot of copper wire, and shim copper was used. Canvas is tea-bag paper painted with Tamiya flat acrylic.

The car behind it made from shim copper and wire, and uses tires and engine from one of the above types of car.

A scene made using various road warrior cars I made over the years. All at 1/25 scale, and are a combination of plastic kits, copper wire and shim, and anything else I thought to be suitable.
The left car in the foreground I made in the late 1980s, then rebuilt in 1990 and was the winning model in the road warrior class at the Australasian Auto modeling Championships 1990. The right car in the foreground is obviously modeled after Mad Max's interceptor. It was my last 1/25 model car, completed some time in the last 10 years. I forget exactly when, and melted together from multiple model kits. Yes, melted. I used a soldering iron to do all the custom work.

The building bug seems to have bitten me again. I accidentally bought 7 kits today. oops.
It is weird having to buy limited reruns of what used to be common models!

Interesting work. Were all of these done 20 years ago? I'd like to see more of the second Camaro with the two riders, and the Beetle.

^Agreed about the Camaro and the Beetle. I'd also like to see more of that one that looks like a Funny car. Cool stuff!

Only the black one and the VW were more recent than 20 years, though we are probably looking at 12 years for the VW and 10 for the black one. I found a dated photo of the black one - Jan 2002!

More photos will happen. Dang camera was on manual focus, and stuffed up a few of my shots. I'm doing more work on both the VW and the interceptor too - neither were weathered, and the interceptor still needs tail lights.

I've also dug out some even older photos of my earlier stuff, so I'll scan them and upload them too.
