POST APOCALYPSE 67 Mustang.

Postby Barry Harker » Thu Nov 12, 2009 2:20 am

Well im gathetring a small collection of these POST APOCALYPSE
Vehicles, not a bad thing !
all of the motors so far have been free of weapons,
so this Mustang will be the first to carry some heavy calibare machine guns !

I posted this model in its starting phase some months ago but its now in full swing. and i shell be working on it for the next 3 or 4 days.
a few days of constant building should get it moving

Here are some Rough Drawings of what the possible outcome may look like........................

and here are the first photos of the metal model being strip down..........

and here are some photos of the Mustang as it stands so far,
the chassis has been built and added to the body along with the axles and wheels.
the window armour has now also been added allowing for all the viewing slots.

the ever faithfull plastic Sprue that comes with any model kit, great for making Bumpers and roll cages with as it is easy to bend into any shape once it is heated up,

Very Handy !

well on with the rear bumper and side armour,

All the best,

Barry.

That bullbar looks might heavy for a pony car. Your scratchbuilding is top-notch

I don't pay a lot of attention to the modeling section usually, but I thought I'd chime in & compliment the paint work on your models.

Just amazing

Thank you for all your comments :D
glad you like what your seeing so far !

and on that note...................

the rear Bumper is now finished and attached to the car along with the side sill armour, and the roof fittings are ready for the roof mounted weapon.
next to do is the wheel armour attaced to the front and rear bumpers and wrapping around the wheel arches.
build the Gattling gun for the roof and then...........PAINT !

Aussie Muscle,
I see where your coming from with regards to the Weight Issue, But if you look at the model before the armour was added you will see the
Mustang sits a little higher than normal and the slightly over sized wheels "from a Ford F150" Would indacate beefed up suspension and chassis
and a larger drive train, the bonnet is the same that is fitted to the "Shelby Super Snake Mustangs" under that hood would be a fire breathing methonal drinking
600+BHP Big Block V8. And as its the 67 Stang, bigger engine bay. Bloody Crap Fuel consumption though HA HA !
I know, I Had A 67 Notch Back and in this Country "the uk",
it was to big ! use to make me smile though !

Here is the build so far..............

on with the roof mounted weapon and finishing of the side armour.
and once the paint has been applied the Stang can go play with MAX !

Well thats it for now,
take care and all the best,

Barry :D
