Oracle8i has a well-deserved reputation for supporting many different platforms
(including Unix), while SQL Server only supports Windows. SQL Server 2000 has a much better graphical user interface, which makes it easier to configure and administrate; Oracle8i has a more traditional command-based interface, but has more robust features that let you fine-tune your database's performance. They both claim they're faster than the other[/font]
