Speaking of making stuff, here's rear rims that I made. Since I didn't have correct rims, I used some leftover parts and plastic sheet to create "close enough" type rims  It still needs bit trimming to even out those spokes, and of course I need to make another. Tires are from Tamiya Pajero which is 1/24 scale kit so size is quite close to original.

To keep things mad, I decided to test fit Tamiya Mitsubishi Pajero chassis for Frank's body. Damn, same wheelbase, working steering, working suspension (bit of novelty but still). With bit of fitting this will be the chassis I'll use.

Behold, very first mock up :o Ride height at rear isn't final, front seems to be quite close. Damn, it just might be that this actually is going to work

I see you're going for the Namibia version of Frank, I personally liked the Broken Hill one because it was sitting really low, real rat-rot like. Have you considered dropping it like in 2009?

Actually I did, and it might be possibility to go something in between also. I haven't done any mounting points for chassis yet so I might play around with different ride heights a bit, we'll see how it turns out.

One key element is huge scoop, this was build from evergreen plastic tube. As all photos of the car are from angles where exact shape is impossible to determine, I decided to go with gut feeling. Could have been tad longer but as this is first go and it came out quite nice, it just might be that I can live with it.

Next locigal step would be fitting the engine, but as I don't have it yet I just tinker around with small details for while.

Scale Repros Plus 350 Chevy engine finally arrived, it's white metal kit and quite heavy (so heavy that it actually depresses functioning suspension a bit). Mounting height is sorted out, and I'll probably do something about that scoop also as it does look bit on the short side.

I have that same pic and yes, it needs to be longer. It could be possible to use that old part though, or if not I'll make new one. I have also other set of rear tires on the way, hopefully they are bit larger on diameter. They have better tread pattern if nothing else.
