i assume it's vic rego? Any problems getting it passed with the letterbox on the hood?

The trick is to put that on after rego ;) ...Avoiding a defect may be another question.

not rego at all. scoop, spool, 3500rpm stall, too loud. soon i'll put it to road worthy. too much fun atm

I know the feeling. I had to put exhausts on mine (twice) before they'd pass it too.
Take some videos of it for youtube while it still sounds mean.
