here's my gmc sierra which i will be making more post-apoc...started painting flat black(mostly because i like it more than olive drab), bought a brush guard, some kc lights, mudflaps and a cb radio,
i also removed the back bumper and tailgate and put a roll pan in...but it still is not perfect, any ideas would be helpful

Welcome to the forum!

What size engine is in that? If you've got the $$$, a dual exhaust setup would sound great... maybe even add on some exhaust stacks coming up right behind the cab!

I'd like to see the brush guard you have in mind. Hopefully it's huge!

The flat black looks great. I think some black wheels along with big tires would look mean as hell on that truck.

How about a rollbar to mount those KC lights on?

Some standard ideas are to remove the grill, remove the hood, and add on a winch.

A nice cheap addition would be to wrap a big ass chain around the front bumper.

You could always paint a skull or something on the doors and hood... if you want to get that crazy, that is.

Keep us updated! I'm looking forward to seeing what you go with.

Well I know auto parts stores sell exhaust pipe tips, like 1-2 foot sections of pipe curved on an angle or whatever. They are only a few dollars each, too. You could get some of those and weld them to a piece of metal, then bolt that metal to the frame so it looks like you have the cool exhaust on there. I don't know if you know anything about welding, but I think it would be easy to do. Or you could get a few longer sections and line them up next to your stock tailpipe.

As for the stencils, if you are going with a Road Warrior-inspired look, most of the enemy vehicles had generic 'evil' artwork, like snakes, bats, and skulls. So I'd say go with something like that. Hmm maybe a menacing man-eating flytrap or something? Nothing too fancy, and I would NOT have any words stenciled down. Also, while the artwork is good, at the same time it isn't perfect. That is good in case you aren't the best artist. I like the skull decals that came with a Black Top Warriors model truck:

They are kind of lopsided but they still look cool.

Just my $0.02.

Looks like a fun project. I like the rims. I almost hate to suggest you replace them with some steel stamped rims
painted black. That will give it a rougher look.

Looks much better with the new wheels. I have a 99 Silverado that's getting long in the tooth; I'd love to do something like this.
