for your information,
the movie was called PHANTOM in France, and was only available on video, never on DVD; In Germany, it was called INTERCEPTOR...

Thanks, Daywalker!

We have a couple of different versions for our collection, mostly VHS copies from foreign regions. E-bay has been wonderful for trying to find certain items. I'm still looking for this version though.

I had some more photos submitted from Steve. Just a few shots of the cars from behind the scenes. While he was on location, with the prototype, he stored it in a warehouse with the rest of the movie cars. It proved to be a great place to shoot some photos. You can see, in the last photo, the M4S pace car off to the left where they were tuning it up.

Thanks so much for posting all those behind the scenes pics, awesome stuff. I too remember watching The Wraith back in the day, will have to dig up a copy and give it another look.

You should post the pics to your site (I went and checked to see if there were any others!). I also liked your locations page - any chance of adding in some descriptions of where the actual locations are?

I could probably pull some of the location stuff together. We've been to the sites, but most of the "landmarks" are gone. Buildings have changed, some were built for the set etc. I do have some production maps and call sheets for the actors. I'll look them up.

And thanks for the idea, i'll get some stuff together early next work.

That would be great!!! Some versions have different art work, so it could be something we're not familiar with. Thank you!

As promissed:

Image
PHANTOM, French VHS, buyed when the movie was sold in France.
It was never burned on DVD...

Lucky me, I'm speaking different languages, so, years later I buyed the movie also in German and in English, in order to have it on DVD.

Image
INTERCEPTOR, German DVD

Image
Inner of the Interceptor cover, the DVD box was transparent...

Image
Region 1 DVD english, an other cover, you have it probably...

If you want, you could sent me your Email address per PM, and I will send you the 1:1 size scans.

Those are perfect! Thanks for posting them. I do have a copy of the last version you listed. The movie was re-released (in the U.S.) about a year ago. We were supposed to be on the DVD doing an interview for the DVD extras, but we couldn't make it work with the production company schedule. There are other interviews with the director and Clint Howard.

There was another DVD cover that i have never seen before. I found it on Google.

Lions Gate Films just recently released a Special Edition DVD.

This was the DVD that we were supposed to do the interview on. They had some really good "extra footage" on this version.

Damn that movie pisses me off..

Was in the midst of writing a short story when I first say the Wraith.

Mine involved a Dead man earning back a bit of his life for killing each of the gang of Hot-rodders that killed him.
Paralleled the Wraith in many aspects.

Tattered leathers, battered evil looking Super musclecar and ghostly mists instead of High tech & flashy lights..
