Opel Commodore

Like the name says...

Opel Commodore

This is a German Opel Commodore from 72. I wonder if this car would be accurate enough for a Holden Monaro Nightrider replica here in Europe. I think yes -this isn't my car though - but I serioulsy think about finding a car close enough to give it the Mad Max Treatment. The guy who owns it seems to be a Max-Fan. The pic comes from a French tuning site.

Too bad that the decals here are so off.
I could probably make it on my own, but I like you kids.

It's a lot smaller than a Monaro.

As a tribute, yes, but not as a replica.

May I suggest the following generation. Could be had as both Rekord an Commodore.

Thanks Bart. The Opel Commodore is definately the best car for Nightrider replica here in Europe. And I don't think it's too small. Most of our modern cars are way smaller than this b*.

The following generation are cheaper too, the first Commodore/Rekord are getting quite expensive to purchase because everyone started to custombuild them in the 80´s and such, so they are getting rare.

Fun thread anyways, I have to show you my old Opel Recommodore, or "Commocord" if you want. It was a Rekord -74 they had put an Commodore -82 drivetrain in and built skirts and spoilers of sheet metal. It was a mixture between Mad Max and some odd Batmobile=)
Used it to put black marks on the pavement and scare little children
Sold it a couple of years ago, now its stripped in a garage somewhere and waiting for a rollcage and a Chevy 350 V8.
