Finally got the engine painted and the headers also, ive also fitted the full wiring loom from the dash to the engine bay, i had the horn working, indicators, dash lights, windscreen wipers, also hooked up the starter to see if it would spin from the key...and it did, aint no big deal , but its nice to know most things are going to work when the car goes live :) im haveing trouble gettting the fan motor to work from the controls, so when i get some spare time will have to look into the problem,for now i just want to get it up and running.

Nice looking mill! I noticed the 351 valve covers, did you find it to be a 351 or is it the 302 with the 351 covers?

Its a 302 Aaron, although it is worked and delivers some nice performance, the rocker covers make it a 351 without haveing to take the crank out :lol:

i dont think i will bother stroking it, and ive replaced the enviromentaly friendly inlet manifold for a square bore gt 2v,should sound nice when its alive 8-)

Hey the best way to go green mate, is to get an aluminum inlet manifold to save weight and run an old spread bore carby. These always got the best gas mileage because the little primary bores were so small (smaller than any two barrell) and the large rear bores brought the power back into play at full throttle! But for normal cruising the carb netted better milage simply because of the little bores. Old Hot rod wisdom shared :)

It had a spread bore set up on it which did give good mpg, the square bore holley was practically new and i had a matching inlet for it, i can always change these things if im not happy with it, wont be long before im fitting the engine and finding out :D
