Even WITH the LHD Conversion, the car would be rare as hell.

Doesn't look a thing like a Camaro.

How many American cars that make their way to Australia get converted to RHD??

I know the Javelins that AMC sent over there were converted.

Do I think that's a shame?

Not at all.

The car should be made to be comfortable to the folks that will be doing the driving.

Most people here wouldn't adapt well to an RHD car.

The British and Aussie visitors that I've met sure had difficulty adapting to our Left handers..

The Car in question, though... I'd definatly do at least a partial Nightrider replica out of it.

Maybe not the hoodscoop, but definately the wheels, color, front and rear spoiler..

yanks had both lhd and rhd at the birth of the motorcar industry.

there was no legislation or industry standard.

henrys first 't's were rhd.

i believe it changed just prior to ww1.

rhd was the standard until about the 30's when some european countries changed over, primarily germany france and russia.

post-war, most others except the UK and some scandinavian changed as well.

scandinavia changed in early 60's (i think, memory hazy).

there was chaos for weeks.

in oz - pretty much rhd from the beginning.

imports less than 30 yrs old have to 'conform to ADRs', which means rhd.

imports older than 30 yrs can remain lhd.
