I once owned a Dagenham built 1988 Fiesta II, and at eight years old it had a rust hole in every body panel...The 1989 model I had afterwards was a lot better!


Ford apparently had a 'rusty' period between 1985-88, which resulted in their British built cars falling apart. The Granada got away with it as it was made in Germany.

The "Gia" models also benefited from the german touch and were a far superior built car.

Will be seeing Sandy, who's site it is on sunday at the show, i'll ask him exactly where they are, he did tell me once but i can't for the life of me remember.


If they look bad on the photos, you can imagine how bad they really are, i suppose when they first came into the country they weren't looked at as rare and collectable, so they were left to rot but as it says on the site, the owner is planning on restoring them, now that i would have to see.

Those pictures are nasty!!! What really gets me though, is that there's a sierra in one picture, with no apparant rust. How did THAT happen????
