The asking price he had on it was US$55,000, I don't know if that's still the case. Trying to extort that kind of money out of the unsuspecting public for a replica car is pretty low in my opinion. I just hope everyone out there is educated enough these days not to pay it.

Peter,

Websites like this one are why people are better informed and (hopefully) not being deceived into believing that "Car 17" is authentic.

Dream on, baby. The Australian Ford Falcon Club knows about you. He'll be lucky to get $5500. Next auction he shows at, we should all raise holy hell.

Hey Ray, think about it positively - you would be getting a newer car than what Max had!

An XC would provide more up-to-date instrumentation and features that would enable a more enjoyable experience in the wastelands!

Hmmm.....Ford - Selectair airconditioning - just the thing for 40 degree heat!

And the gear options: PRND12 - no mucking around here! Just arrange for your second mortgage and car-17 it up!

Hey, Foxtrot, whereabouts in Neb. are you? I'm in central western Iowa, (about 2 hours from Omaha) I think you're by far the closest person on this forum to me.

Foxtrot: The Forney museum is in Denver CO.. It on the east side of I-25, just north of the new Denver Donkeys stadium and Coors Field. Kind of a shabby place with lots of dust. Got some interesting stuff though, like one of the original 25 Big Boy 4-8-8-4 locomotives. I'd pass it going back and forth to college. It's nothing compared to that huge farm/train/auto/bike/housing museum in Liberal(?) Nebraska. I can't remember the name.

Ahhh. Yes. Denver. I miss Denver Sooooooo much. Sorry, you brought back fond memories. Even if it is a turd, I'm sorry I didn't know the car was there or I would have checked it out when I was there in January.

Interdictor: Here's a fond memory of mine...ever hear of a place called Casa Bonita on Colfax Blvd, West of Mile High Stadium about 5 miles? That was my favorite place in Denver. I also remember Cinderella City mall on Santa Fe in Littleton. The basement shops all looked like an old village...it's all torn down now. I used to take dates to the 16th Street mall downtown and just walk along the storefronts looking at the lights, then go to the Spaghetti Factory for dinner. Now I'm homesick... lol.
