UH?

Yes, it's in Florida now.

BTW, I have a question about this image, I hope you folks that know BoBs history know what's up:
1.jpg

Does anyone know if this is the original concept for the BoB (not the Mustang one obviously)?
Or is this Peter Arcadipane's concorde design for the XB GT before they told him to do a Panel Van for the 1977 motor show instead? I've had this pic kicking around for ages and I still don't know what's this about, any help with that plz?

Look closely to the bottom http://www.carbodydesign.com/gallery/20 ... oncept/29/
Design sketches for concord coupe (unknown designer)

I think its early sketch of special coupe what Arcadipane wanted to build as it said in http://www.streetmachine.com.au/feature ... rcadipane/ "I did proposals based on the Falcon GT coupe, not the van, because I was a car guy. The original Concorde concept was a high-performance aerodynamic coupe much like the long-nose Plymouth Superbird for NASCAR homologation"

And to make that statement is im sorry also very much incorrect.

I do know, and I think it's all bullshit. I left this site because of all the infighting, and upon a break of a few years, return to find that nothing much has changed.

I'm reminded of this famous quote: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wui-PNqJrxs

I think it's time to sell my car and leave for good.

Infighting?

So you are saying Jimbo is a nice guy who never lied and bullshitted to fans and people?
His reputation is not that crash hot.
Parts from the car have been swapped again.

And again posting up what you said is an insult to other people who did a LOT of hard work in tracking down cast, crew, genuine moulds and identifying what they were and where you could get them.

I LOT of stories (first hand stories) have come my way in the past 15yrs due to my association on this board and i have been fortunate enough to meet up with a lot of fans at 2 reunions.

Im sorry but the interceptor is slowly being destroyed and changed from what it was.
We are 100% snafu....

The Falcon is in a bad spot right now, its so hard to say for sure just what would be proper for it. Restore it exact MM2, Restore it fully back to MM. Mabey even take it back all the way to factory resto (It is very rare first half of the 1973 year GT) with all the good drive train...IE: Last of the US built big port head 351cleveland and last run to get Toploader box. Even if the car had not been in a movie its worth over 100k restored properly "Concours" Also right now as it sits doesn't it have a guineuine Arcadipane nose...so you wouldn't want to cut off the air dam for proper MM2 look. Even if it was the Van mould? I could say a lot worse about Jim M. But I will not! I don't really know him well and when I did meet him he was very nice to me. But he was lying to folks about the car at the show and it was very off putting. I don't know if it was just because its hard to explain to folks that its a replica MM Car but a real Ford Falcon? I dunno. I own my own replica and its hard to squeeze in 20 years worth of info in 30 sec. at a show to several people about the car and just what it is without them thinking the whole damn car is some kind of fake and not even a real Ford Vehical. Regardless I have had a few people assume its the real thing straight from the movie and I correct them every time!! Period! I,ME,Myself built my car in my driveway and garage and I want to take all credit for that! No credit to movie production company Graf-x. For my replica! LOL Also Jim owns his own resto shop so im sure he had his crew assemble his for him. haha And his had some major body work flaws too. LOL

My preference would be to restore it back to RW spec, as it was in the movie. it's pointless to make it back to mad max, as it's got the extended tanks and other movie changes. plus, most people know the road warrior version.

Comparison pics to follow soon: gauges in the rear of the tanks were replaced with new ones, dobros gauge and red light were replaced with replicas, ammo pouch inside drivers door was switched, steering wheel was switched, blower scoop, shifter handle and blower switch have all been swapped FOR NO FUCKING REASON. Those are just the ones I could spot from pictures. Who knows what else was stolen while it was being "worked on" unsupervised.

I thought the shifter switch and other gear was lost in it's time before going to england? there may have been good reasons to swap out parts, like if the originals were damaged or falling apart.

That's the whole problem. the parts that were "switched" were originals and there was no need to touch them at all. If the idots ar Dezer gave a shit, they would have kept the orignal parts to put in a display case just as such so people could see the truth.

To give a couple frames of reference for 'original' and what it means...

Back in 1970 there was a specific famous TransAm race involving a particular factory Ford built Boss 302. In this race, a certain amount of damage was done to the car, but it won (and the championship at the same time IIRC). Fast forward to the 80's when collector car prices skyrocketed. The then current owner of the car decided to restore it and he proceeded to do what was then considered a top level job. The car came out exactly as it had when it left Ford in all it's brand spanking new race trim. An amazing job, you would not know it had served for years on the track and then languished. I'm sure he thought he was doing the right thing to 'restore' the car. What he did was erase that history. The damage done in that race was a part of TransAm history and it's gone. That car is now worth less than if he had left it alone, even though it is fully restored.

Years before that was a particular racing Ferrari. It was raced. The motor was changed to an uprated motor. Then the body was swapped for a more aerodynamic one. Eventually it was balled up in a crash. Years later someone got a hold of the wreck and rebuilt it to it's last known configuration. BUT, someone else had acquired the original body and a replacement frame/motor. And a third party had the original motor and had a replica of the original body made on a replacement frame.
All three cars could in some way claim to be the original. One has the original frame which must be the 'real' car since even the factory tossed out the body and motor, right? Or is it the car with the original factory body? Or, since it is a race car, the original motor/trans decides originality?

Cars are only original once and the Interceptor no longer is and hasent been for many many years. That's why I think that its fare game with many other options for restoration on many different levels all of with in my mind would be better than its currant condition. Personally at this point if I had the means I would want the Fury road hero car. it would be preserved in it currant as used in film condition. The original BOB is in sloppy stuck between two movie condition with many authentic details earased forever. Sad. At least it is an early build 73 XBGT no faking or earasing that!
