It just doesnt look right in the wastelands of the Coles discount petrol station........ lol

Had a mate who had one in the lae 70's, a 302, he said the fuel economy was 4mpg, ouch back then when gas was cheaper.... have you been able to improve on that with todays technology?

4mpg ? Thats drag engine consumption.

I run several 351c's and 351w's as well as a few other V8's and i'd be really concerned at that mileage.

He was a lead foot and always drove everywhere hard so maybe thats the explanation? Dunno, I just remember being jealous as he had the XB 302 and I was driving a Ford Cortina 440... oh the shame

Thats funny i run a 460 bigblock in my BOB with 750 holley DP, edlebrock performer aluminum heads, 3.50 ratio diff ,C6 auto with mild stall coverter (does not help fuel milage) and average 12/13 MPG on highway trips. But you barley have to push on the go pedal to move along!

I'm just rebuilding the Bopper with much the same set up. Damn unleaded fuel stuffed the old engine.
