Things have changed here in the US. Max I and II used to be shown very regularly on the Basic Cable channels ('Superstations' TBS and TNT, Spike...), but the last few years have disappeared from the Basic Tier. Booo...

Here in france we get the opportunity to watch german channels as well and the Mad Max movies they show are always heavely censored. Mad Max one misses the Chevy Impala assault and Mad Max II/The Road Warrior misses Luke's assault on the truck's tyre with the Mohawker & Harley rider getting under the truck + several other scenes. Beyond Thunderdom is rarely procasted. As for me the movie is just good because of Tina Turner's presence and she'a a good actress. The scenes with the kids are boring as hell and we have to wait till the ending to see a car chase. The Kids in Thunderdome remind me the terrible Ewoks of Return Of the Jedi. Simply annoying and made for children. Yep Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome is a film made for little kids.

Here in Connecticut (Northeast US) cable channels such as AMC and G4 show Road Warrior at least once a week on average. AMC frequently uses the version with "Mad Max 2" in the intro, but call it "Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior" under channel info. The people at Comcast can't make up their minds. Movie channels like Encore will rarely play Mad Max 1 and Beyond Thunderdome.

Here in the UK, they don't get aired often on terrestrial channels like BBC etc but all 3 are fairly regular on satellite channels like Sky Movies. Would not surprise me to see Sky cash in with one movie channel dedicated for a week or so to a post apocalyptic theme; showing the 3 films and similar fare like Terminator or Escape From New York etc. They have done it with other genre's to cash in with related cinema releases, Sky 007, Sky Monsters etc, Sky Superheroes, Sky Porn (joking)..
