Wouldn't it have been a decent tie-in to have Beano, the retarded guy (son?) on Mays farm to be the real identity of Blaster? MM3 really lacked references to the previous films. I believe all it had was Max muttering, "I wuz a cop; a driver".

Or better yet, Beano could have rode shotgn with Max, on his quest to get Toe Cutter. Better yet, he could have driven the interceptor. Beano deserves his own movie when you think about. He was cool.

tie ins galore

There were tons of tie ins, just none of them were obvious. I think that Bruce Spence's character is the same guy in Mad Max 2 and Thunderdome. There is the guy who looks like Charlie in Thunderdome too. Also doesn't papgallo's car appear in Thunderdome?? See there were tons of tie ins (if you think 3 is a lot). As for Benno being blaster......sure why not, it could have been cool.
