Two engined truck

I saw this in a local weekly info/news folder.
Every week they show pictures from the early days. There is now a series about travel and transport.
A local machine factory that already exists since the late 1800's here in my town designed and made a special truck for an other local company in 1936.
It is a truck with 2 engines side by side. When the truck was empty it ran on one engine and fully loaded it ran on two.
There where 2 trucks of these build.

Looks bizarre. But I think if the MM movies where filmed in the late 30's, Miller would definitely try to get his hands on this truck. This would look very impressive in those days. And imagine what you can do with this truck rebuilding it to something post-apocalyptic.

And it is also shown on the website of the factory.

I always thought it would be cool to do something cool with one of these , you could fit lots of options into the back of it like a whole town lol

They used such a truck in the post-apocalyptic movie Warrior of the lost world.
But they are very slow. Imagine a high speed chase with speeds up to 30km/h

The 2 engined truck from the 30's will be much faster. Especially if you soup-up the engines. A blower sticking out each engine hood :D

All those trucks look impressive, but in reality none of them have any high gears for high speed travel.
Mine trucks wont go over 40kmh...
Those big red prime movers same deal, are designed for pulling heavy loads and id hazzard a guess wouldnt even do 80kmh.

If you want impressive, the road trains here in Australia (while speed limited to 90 or 100kmh) will easy reach 120kmh if the limiter is off and pulling a full load.

If you right click to view image in full, youll see what i mean about impressive

The only one which just looks straight out of a movie and wouldnt need to be "dressed up" to look mean is this!

As mentioned Aussie roadtrains are where it's at, or Canadian log haulers. Basically the same powertrain combos. US truckers are also getting big into the modified truck scene now.
