Prometheus trailer

'Prometheus' is a prequel to the movie 'Alien', and is from the same director as the original, Ridley Scott. 'Alien' was also released the same year as 'Mad Max', and it's interesting to note that if it weren't for the delays, Miller's 'Fury Road' might've been released the same summer as 'Prometheus'. Two prequels/reimaginings from the same two directors 33 years later.

As for the trailer, there's a LOT that reminds me of the first 'Alien', which is one of my favorites, but it also definitely looks crisp like a modern movie would (shot digitally) with some decent CGI. I would expect the 'Fury Road' trailer will have similar traits (modern, yet nostalgic).

agreed, this movie looks excellent.

I love Ridley Scott's movies. he captures Fear better than any other filmmaker.

I've always been a fan of the ALIEN franchise (another case where the 3rd installment left the fans disenchanted). I agree the trailer does pay homage to the original. Watching the trailer I couldn't help thinking, finally a good movie to see in the theatre. I'm looking forward to seeing this one.

Lately I've been against all the remakes/prequels/sequels etc, but this film looks amazing, not to mention it stars Noomi Rapice from the 2009 Swedish version of "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo." :D I must also point out that the film isn't a prequel in the traditional sense. According to Ridley Scott, the film does take place before the events in "Alien", and has creatures with some of the same DNA, but in fact has nothing to to with the previous 'Alien' films, but is set in the same universe. This actually makes me happy, for if they were to do a prequel to "Alien," there would be no point, in that would be another one of Hollywood's unoriginal schemes to make money with a film that might as well be a remake. I'm that's not the case :)

I dont think you can go wrong with a Ridley Scott or Tony Scott film. I cant recall a dud between them. Even films that werent really my thing like that one where rusty crowe runs a vineyard i didnt mind.

Can't wait to see it. According to IMDb it will be in cinema's may 31. But I know that it always takes a lot longer before it is in a Dutch cinema.

Yep, it does. Check out the UK trailer linked below. It's even better.

I've always felt that Ridley made 3 classic movies to start his career, but since then has failed to make anything that matched. Technically, all of his movies are well made, but imo his style took a turn after Blade Runner and his movies haven't been the same since. Now, I'm not expecting Prometheus to be at the level of those earlier films, but I am hoping for the best.

Most intense one yet, and I'm definitely getting an R-rated vibe.
