If you like schlocky b grade car horror films, stay up and watch Highwaymen on Go! digital tonight. Its on at 1:20AM. I caught it on TV a few months ago, and its a cracker. You wont be disappointed. Think Mad Max crossed with Patrick.

Is that the one where the bad guy is a cripple and has a tricked-out Eldorado coupe and the good guy is running a '68 Barracuda with a Hemi/4-speed?

This film is so heavily influenced by Mad Max it isnt funny. But, it is a standalone film on its own and is very very good in that B grade schlock car film way. Mad Max is still far superior.

Highwaymen is a great film. But I actually don't really consider it a B-film. It's directed by Robert Harmon who gave us another great Car Chase horror film, the original 1986 "The Hitcher." And here are some more stills from the film:

A damn shame waste of a 68 Barracuda. At least the 'hero' car survived filming. It later showed up in an episode of 'Malcolm in the Middle'. You almost got the whole pistol-grip shifter in that interior shot. I liked the big 'slab-sides' Eldorado too. My sister had a '73 Eldo ragtop back in high school. Two-tone blue with white leather interior. The perfect Florida car. I was always borrowing it. :D

Hey Bad Cop - kudos on posting the poster.

And Armourer, I dont reckon its a waste of a Barracuda, i doubt it was a genny hemi version, and i reckon they must have used at least two in the making of the film.

Is it on DVD with a making of/commentary ?

That sheila is a babe too. I think she was also in that dystopian film from a few years back set in Uk where she had to go to Scotland or something. its name escapes me.

The film you are thinking of is called "Doomsday." The actress' name is Rhona Mitra.
