Samsara Chronicles Ripped off by Book of Eli?

Postby MFP1 » Tue Feb 23, 2010 3:47 pm

Has ANYONE seen the "Samsara Chronicles" made by the same folks who did "Welcome To Where Ever You Are"?

Someone please tell me that Eli is not a total concept ripoff of this film......

OK they left out the "Kurdt Kobain as Jesus" stuff and the Trannys but otherwise....... the only diffrence seems to be Action thriller (Eli) vs Wacky Art Film (Samsara).

I can only expcet die hard Mad Max fans to have seen the Samsara Chronicles it seems, so I cant get many folks to inteligently comment......

ANYONE?

I know that there used to be a bunch of places where you could see the trailer. The youtube one seems to be down (possibly the Eli producers actually bought the rights to this film), and I can only find this one functioning trailer so far. There were a few from back when the WTWEYA guys contacted me to see about getting the film into SIFF (seattle intl film fest). I have it on DVD. Maybe I am one of the few who was aware as this film cameout.

Anyway, there is some brief discriptions and trailer info at the youtube repeater sites if you do a google search, but check out the trailer here and you tell me:

Wow, a new name, a new directors cut. Ill have to check ou tthe new version.

The discription given at the above link seems to read a little heavily into the Kurdt Cobain thing. I didnt see this as a story about a guy passing on Kurdt's "Teachings".... yeh the Crusified Kurdt is a heavy and pivotal image, but I ghot the feeling that the kid did his own writing from his own mind, and the "teachings" are from the collected book of his writings.

My take on the dialog-less Samsara Shronicles / Freedom Deep.

Hrer is a new trailer:
