So what are the chances of MAD MAX coming across a V8 in the wasteland in the new movie? It's would be great to see the black beauty on the big screen again.

Actually, we don't really know that.

We don't know much of anything, and much of what we do know, some folks here actively deny.

The BoB could very well show up in some sort of Flashback or for all we really know the movie could be set between MM1 & MM2RW.

I wouldn't hold my breath for it, though. Image

The original XB is dead of course...

I'm not sure of the Mad Max chronology but...

Gut feeling is that the 'oil war apocalypse' of the late seventies killed all all of the ugly 'boxy' car designs that arrived in the early eighties... What was the falcon after the XC? It was hideous...

Thankfully for us Max was left with only the sleek styled seventies coupes.

From what I hear MMIV is going to be a return to form of the metal meshing action we came to expect with 1 & 2... "Car tribes" that worship their vehicles like the native american indians did their horses.

Maybe we can expect more retro-fitted american muscle cars?

I don't see any other alternative junkers88. The only time Max drove something out of the 80's was his junk truck from MM3. Thank God it was heavily modified, as well as other LAND ROVERS in MM3.

..

I will never get over this. Land Rovers in Mad Max...

ANYWAY, we should expect retro-fitted muscle cars, without them it just wouldn't be a Mad Max movie.

Max's MM3 Buggy was an XA, XB or XC Sedan on a truck frame..

Just had to throw that in there. ;)

I've always felt the BoB was an Alternate universe's NEW year Model.. (Rather, the same ol' car again) Image

My thoughts on the timeline put MM1 just "A Few Years" from the "Now" of 1979.. I.E. 1982 or so.

Seems conceivable to me that the car companies, in light of the horrible gas crunch that was happening in this universe's 70's & 80's, the car companies kept building cars on the same tooling.. (Costs a sh*tload of money to design and retool for new vehicles..)

Basically (In my view) the BOB was maybe a factory experimental (Alternate Universe) "XD" Falcon.

Equipped with an experimental Modular D.O.H.C. V-8 and designed to run Multiple fuel sources (Gas, Nitro, etc..) that was further modified by the Main Force.

(Then handed off to Barry to pretend he built it)

I think junkers88 is on to it. Miller is going to try to top MM1 and MM2 with the ultimate "car" movie. Since MM2 I think the only notables were "Gone In 60 Seconds" and the "Fast and Furious kiddie series" He named it "FURY ROAD" so I am hoping it lives up to the name.
