"Happy Feet"

After devoting the last several years to Happy Feet, it is not surprising that Miller will take some time off to spend with his family, recharge his batteries, before working on what he describes "as a much smaller film." That will be followed by the long awaited Mad Max IV, but without Mel Gibson. "Though I think there will be another Mad Max; the time has gone where Mel can be in it. I think the last opportunity was about four years ago and you know the character's lean and hungry. He was twenty one when he first played Mad Max and he's now in his fifties Also I think he's much more interested in what's happening behind camera than in front. It needs a lean and hungry actor and he's not into acting so much anymore and I think he just loves producing, writing and directing. But I think if fates allow there will be another Mad Max though it is certainly two films away for me, but the time's gone when Mel can run around the wasteland anymore."

For Dr Miller, it seems that Max fans can rejoice knowing that the cult character he helped created three decades ago remains alive and well in the director's seasoned imagination.

Read the article.

Gibson's Out. Full Stop.

As I've said before Recasting is Risky.

It may work.. It may not.

Hell, even without Recasting, the third movie is regarded by many of you as an outright failure, so what kind of guarantee is Gibson?

(At this point, He'd Hurt more than Help, IMO)

It will not be the Mad Max as we know it. Mel should surtanly do the role. He's perfect for the caracter. That's what he has proven with the other 3. Nobody else has the particular humor that Mel has, ore the raw feeling of "I need guzzaline and I do anything to get it. Get it?"

And it's the face. I find it irritating if a sequel has a differant face in it. You are just not looking at a sequel anymore.
"UNDERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" is how far you take the fence with you.

Has anyone ever considered the unsung hero of MM3, Ironbar (Angry Anderson) as the lead of a sequel? If you're not doing a Mad Max film rather one set in that world, then Ironbar is perfect. Fury Road could develop his character instead of the tired of Max role.

cmon seriously if mel doesnt do it the movie wont be the same mad max. It will be like watching a movie that relates to mad max. Mel is Max and recasting wont do it for me. Although i would watch it because george miller will probably bring back cast from the previous movies but still i would be happy if mel plays a cameo part maybe he can start off in the movie get injured and let someone else take over then show mel near the end when victory prevails. If mel thinks he is too old to wander the wastelands then a cameo wont be too much to ask from him. That would be better than not having him in MM4 at all.
