Mad Max being branded with the Immortan Joe insignia

Postby Mad_Jim » Tue Sep 22, 2015 2:25 am

I watched a behind the scenes clip with Max and he had the Immortan Joe Insignia on the back of his neck, but while being prept for the blood bank he escaped being branded in the version we saw, could this be another deleted scene?

Deleted scene? I don't think so, more like he didn't escape the inevitable after all. Keep in mind his car was only being modified when he attempted escape and was fully tricked out by the time Furiosa made a run for it.
Who knows how long he was caged up, which is funny because the opening makes it look like they caught Max the day before and Furiosa escaped the next morning. Whatever, he was probably kept in captivity for weeks for all we know.

Thats mad, They purposely avoid showing his neck so we don't see it throughout the film or maybe we don't get any up close shots. There must be tons of footage they never used.

They had to put the brand on Tom for continuity, just incase his shirt slipped down, revealing it, (that's why when they make up a character like say Freddy krueger and they put the burns halfway down his chest UNDER the jumper, cause you never know what that camera might pick up) or George felt like filming from a certain angle that day.
That's why they had to make sure every vehicle had special detail inside it - even the background ones, just incase George sporadicallay decided to shoot an unscripted scene or something, like he does.

First time i saw it though, i didn't think they branded him cause he was too much bloody trouble, ya know?

Crackpot theory but maybe George wanted it on Max everyday to keep him more in character. He did have to Doof constantly blasting out riffs 24/7, some of the actors said they could barely hear themselves most of the time.
