One thing to keep in mind, as far as I could tell from research awhile back for another thread, the studio's cut in China is only 25%. That's half or less than half of their cut in many other places.

Just for some ideas of how other films have done in China this year:

Looks like there been 88 movies released this year from that chart and FR aint one of em. Yeah i'd read somewhere before that things work a little different with China in what a studio takes. I believe they also have the option to sell the rights to a Chinese distributor for X amount instead of taking the lower percentage of the takings. Perhaps they are just taking there time weighing up what would be the best option for this movie?
Either way more money is what it's all about really for the studio so it's a market they don't want to miss out on whatever it may bring. I just think it'll do pretty good there hopefully when it does finally screen. If it was to do say $100M even at 25% is still another 25M adding that with along with what hopefully Japan and the remaining screenings bring in will have this breaking even before the home stuff starts. That would be good.. But when will it finally open and why no actual release date still?

I am praying every day it gets a release in China.
My actual prediction for the total box office numbers (excluded China) by the end of its theatrical run:

Domestic: 151 Million

Worldwide: 370 Million

*** MISSION ACCOMPLISHED ***

Thread should be called "I hate China and here's why you should to. And Mad Max is here."

I saw this movie in Canada on the release date and have seen it in Shanghai.. There is also a Chinese version of Netflix that I use and have watched the trilogy online, thousands of views and high ratings. I wont comment on the original post because that is just there personal opinion :D
