Flashbacks, reflexes... precognition?

Postby Uncle Entity » Thu May 28, 2015 4:38 am

A guy on IMDB wrote:

"Saw it for a 6th time yesterday and I noticed something on my 3rd viewing that keeps bothering me.

Towards the end before Max tells the women his final plan to take back the citadel, Max sees the hallucination of the girl making a gesture with her hand which causes Max to smack himself in the head. Now in that moment for a split second, theres a frame of the masked guy who later shoots an arrow at Max (the one who stabs Furiosa).

And when that moment happens in the climax, Max has the vision of the girl who does the hand gesture which saves Max's life stopping the arrow from piercing his head.

Anyone else see this?"

I thought the other way around.... that hallucination messed up with his reflexes and he went shot in the hand.

This doesn't change the image "from the future" was in there.

What do you think?

Just came back from yet another viewing and I noticed that too. The guy with the mask was there for literally a frame. I don't have a problem with that flashback as such, but why would it be THAT specific? I don't know what to make of it.

Max had the PTSC flashback again what made him 'protect' his face from the girl of his hallucination. But this time a guy shoots an arrow at him at the same time. The arrow went through his hand and was slowed down enough not to go into his head far enough to do significant damage.
"UNDERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" is how far you take the fence with you.

No wait. Re-read my thread. The guy was PART of the hallucination he had days before.

No, the guy was not. He was the one that shot the arrow. And the arrow is real and not in Max's imagination.

Edit:
You say that max saw this guy already in his hallucination earlier, and now shot him for real?

Yes, we see the guy in the hallucination when max put his hand in front of his head. And it will be the same guy who's going to shoot at him the next day. The same gesture (the hand in front of his head) will save max' life !

Have to look out for that one with my next viewing.

It might be a leftover frame from the editing bay (since it's digital editing, they may have copy pasted the moment from later in the film, and not clean up the edit so that one frame remained, unseen ?)
