Fury Road Toned Down After Seeing Art Book??

After reading the Art/making of book, it seems like the film could have been even crazier?? Have to say, I preferred the original design for the Immortan, without hair, more skull like, blue armour; looked very Gigerish. Also People Eater barely looks human. The Wasteland looks a little more developed too. Nux is also more stylised.

Not complaining about the finished film but it does look slightly toned down from what was planned? Looks more out & out SF/fantasy in the book. Characters are more mutated, like Cursed earth in Judge Dredd.

That book is great, I enjoyed it as much as watching the film. Seriously guys, any of you that have hesitated on it (as it is pricey), it is soooo worth buying, The only thing Ive seen as good was the Weapons & Warfare book that accompanied Return Of The King back in 2003.

I've noticed that concept art always tends too look more imaginative than the finished product in most sci fi movies.

You have to take into account the practicality of the costumes and effects. They always change a bit from drawing to screen. Drawing cost nothing. Making it real cost time, money, and the actor has to be able to physically wear it and be convincing. Tons of reasons to change and adapt.

I actually prefer the concept artwork. The movie looks small in comparison.

I found that too, the book is very stylised. Like others have said, what works in Art doesn't always transfer over to screen - wish it did mind!!

I found the concept artwork to be very ugly- way too ugly. It's impressive, but horror movie ugly rather than 'action' movie ugly. Everybody is ugly except for Max. However, there are interesting ideas here.

Don't you think there's something a little bit wrong with this two drawings from the Vertigo's book : "FURY ROAD INSPIRED ARTISTS" ?!

Somebody call Miller and his crack team of CGI specialists, they missed a spot!

Ha ha i noticed those. I guess we can assume the artists were given set pics or costume pics and assumed that the green material on Furiosa's arm is part of the arm rather than something to be CG'd out later lol.

I saw all those comic book artworks before the movie came out and had the feeling that the artists didn't even see the movie.
