Nightwalker,

I may be partly responsible for small percentage of the increased traffic here. I have suggested to a few individuals on Twitter to visit this site and forum in response to their Mad Max: Fury Road tweets.

"UNDERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" is how far you take the fence with you.

This was interesting and weird. It was obviously guys in stilts. When I first saw this, I was like "WTF?"

Are they mutant animals? Or are they people who dress like that to navigate the bog?

couldnt "plains of silence" be their way of saying the dead, because at that point only dead people would know what a movie or a tv show is? that's what i understood when she said it.

i didnt take it for a literal location.

Max is at the edge of the Plains of Silence at the beginning of the film contemplating crossing it because the legend goes those who dare to venture across never come back. So there's either something on the other side or you die trying to cross it finding your "peace".

It's great counter balance and arc when you see that Max was going to cross it at the beginning of the film wanting to possibly end his own life and then later stopping Furiosa and the group to give them another and better choice at living and survival.

No.
According to the tattoos, the place is called "The Powder Lakes".

"Max is at the edge of the Plains of Silence at the beginning of the film contemplating suicide" - I think it's a metaphor for afterlife/death. the vuvalini didnt look too happy when she said it.
