The Plains of Silence

What do you think that place is?

It was mentioned very briefly in the movie by one of the Vuvalini when they were talking about shows. She said that only the ones in the Plains of Silence know if there are still shows in the world.
It's also a place Max wants to get to to find solace (in the video game). What is that mythical place?

My thinking is the Plains of Silence are the former oceans, now dried out. How else could one drive for "160 days" in any direction?

I'm thinking it's some kind of an oasis that was never affected by the fall.
The Great Salt or 'The Great White' as they call it in the game - sounds like dried up oceans. Like it was mentioned in another thread, 160 days in any direction would make you go around the world, so I guess the oceans dried up in this universe.

I posted my theory once before on the video games Great White - the Great Australian Bight makes sense with its proximity to earlier MM film locations

If you look at the 'road' the War-rig is driving along (I can't remember for sure if it is just after the *spoiler*….

...blowing up of the Bullet Farmer scene.)

but the road definitely looks as if it's been coastal at some point. You can see where, what looks like sands/dunes/shore sweep down and away from the edge of the roadside. I'm fairly sure that this backups the idea of the oceans having either shrunk considerably, or possibly nearly vanished altogether.

I spoke to a person who worked on the movie and he said one of the cut scenes were fishermen fishing , I think they were the guys on 4 stilts in the wetland area , I will confim this when I speak to him next

There was another scene missing with a gyrocopter approaching the War Rig in the night. The people on the rig thought it was a bike but it took off right before the Rig and attacked it. Miller just wanted to have a gyrocopter in the movie (because he just loves to mess with fans), but aside from a pretty clever surprise plot device there was no point to it. Ask the guy about the fishermen, it looks like they'd have a purpose in that place. Although I thought the bog walkers were snatching up the crows for some reason:)

Indeed, Taipan. Page 78 of the 'the art of' book has some drawings of vehicles they came up with for the Buzzards. There is a hovercraft that was supposed to be used to lure others into quicksand. And a rotorrider. A 'strap on your back' helicopter engine and rotor.

Don't worry, mate. It already happened a few times. The last time, about 2 days ago, for a time I couldn't get onto the forum. I kept getting the error message 'exceeded maximum amount of connections'. That was over 1000 connections.
But it surprises me the last few weeks how many 'guest' forum visitors we get sometimes. Never been so high.
"UNDERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" is how far you take the fence with you.
