MAD MAX isn't even in the title (Yet) right? "FURY ROAD" According to IMDB. OR has miller just yet to confirm it?

A couple of updates.

Theron has a word about being cast in Fury Road.

The decision to join the cast of 'Mad Max: 'Fury Road' -- the latest entry in the vaunted film franchise -- was easy for Oscar winner Charlize Theron.

"George Miller is THAT for me," Theron told Moviefone at Wednesday's premiere of her new drama, 'The Road,' at AFI Fest in Hollywood. "He is amazing. I am really looking forward working with him."

Also, I asked Clint at Moviehole.net to confirm that rumor about Fury Road he posted, then pulled. He kindly responded...

Yep, I was asked to remove it for the time being. So yeah, something tells me those age-old rumours of Mel Gibson's Max being the villain of the piece might be true.

Of all the plot rumors swirling about, the idea of Max having gone bad or mad is the most intriguing to me.

Hmmm not sure I like the idea of Max being the villan...always like him being the victim/hero.

Hello there everybody, new here.
With news about a fourth movie hitting it got me to watch the old movies again, or more like for the first time as I only recalled bits and pieces of them.
So searching for more news on the next movie I found this board.

Anyways, I had it in the back of my head that I'd read somewhere some time back about Miller not seeming very interested in getting Gibson back. And doing some searching about I found this link to a interview from march 2008 about a video game based of Fury Road.

An interesting quote from the interview is:

Oh, it wouldn't be with Mel....I didn't realize it was so long ago but, he was 20, well, he was 21 when he first played Mad Max. He's in his 50's now--it's too old. Yeah, I think for "The Road Warrior" he was 22 or 23 or something, so he was just a baby back then.

Not much respect for Gibson to spot there it seems. Sure glad Spielberg didn't have that attitude when preparing for Indy 4.
Seems Miller doesn't really care that much about if he's in it or not as if he can just easily be replaced without anybody noticing.

Is there a reason for him to have changed his mind now? I really hope so at least.
But from the way he ignored the Gibson question from that recent car unveiling video it might not seem to be the case.

It's going to be painful to watch a new Mad Max movie after all this time without Gibson in it.
As others have said it's like Indiana Jones without Ford.
It's a real shame that every movie has to center around young people these days, or at least it feels like it's the case.

Still, why does it have to have another one of these young guys as the main character?
Okay so I already know the answer, they don't think the 15 year olds will go see a movie with a main character over 20.

Let Gibson be the main character and Hardy be a sidekick or a villain.

Various Australian newspapers are claiming today that Tom Hardy will indeed be playing Mad Max.

However, they all seem to be referencing the same article in England's Sunday Express newspaper which claims Hardy will be Max without divulging a source for that statement of fact. If Hardy told them himself, that's one thing, but it just looks like they're repeating what was stated in the Hollywood Reporter blog a week ago.
